An uneven floor is a problem for every homeowner and tenant. Floors are exposed to great stress, so an adhesive, resilient substrate is important. Uneven floors can be easily leveled with self-leveling compounds. A straight floor ensures a longevity of the laid tiles, because unevenness has a drastic effect on the punctual loading of the tiles and can thus lead to damage to the tile.
Especially in older residential buildings, the smooth evenness of floors and walls over time after. This not only looks ugly, but can lead to larger cracks and holes, especially in the floor area. Trip hazards are inevitable. In the course of a renovation or modernization, such damage can be leveled out in a short time with a filler or leveling compound. There are various products to choose from. Depending on the project and the type of damage, the right mixture can be found, which can also be used by inexperienced do-it-yourselfers. The individual filler and leveling compound products are quickly "mixed" and can be used immediately. The different mixtures are suitable for repairing small cracks and holes and for large-area processing. With a quick-drying cement screed, for example, a complete floor is laid just as flat as with normal screed; only in a significantly shorter time of accessibility and resilience. This is very useful for the somewhat impatient do-it-yourselfer.
Party room, fitness room or new tiles in the bathroom and kitchen
After the project has been determined and all considerations, measurements and calculations have been carried out, it is time to choose the filler or leveling compound. Depending on whether you want to lay exterior tiles, mosaic tiles, natural stone tiles or normal wall tiles for damp rooms, a wide variety of products with different properties are available in this category. It is best to prepare floor surfaces with a quick-drying leveling compound or leveling compound. There is a choice between pumpable compounds or a cement screed. Filler, leveling compound and cement screed dry in a gray color and can be walked on after just 1 - 3 hours on average. The very smooth surfaces help save on adhesives and can be used under parquet. There is also a choice of a multifunctional filler for indoor use.
All products are characterized by a very high yield and time-saving self-leveling (i.e. the mixed materials run particularly smoothly and as if by themselves). There are hardly any special tools required for smoothing in order to distribute the filler or leveling compound absolutely evenly. The fillers and leveling compounds presented can be applied in a thickness of 1 - 20 mm. If necessary, quartz sand is used for stretching if, for example, a leveling compound is only intended for a thickness of up to 10 mm. For repairing concrete and cement plaster indoors, outdoors and underwater, we recommend a very fast-drying leveling compound with a time to walk on and cover after just 1 hour.
The right product for indoor, outdoor and underwater areas
Regardless of which renovation and modernization measures are sought - a good preparation of the respective subsurface is extremely important. On the one hand, tiles or tiles that are to be newly attached permanently adhere to the sub-floor or whether it is to lay a new high-quality parquet floor extremely precisely on the scales. For small repair areas on normal living space walls in the interior, repair leveling compounds or leveling compounds that are adapted to the room conditions or temperatures are sufficient. In damp and cold areas (basement, swimming pool, garage, etc.) the right choice of leveling compound ensures an optimal and safe result. Ceramic floor tiles and wall tiles always require special attention to the prevailing room and ambient temperatures and the degree of moisture or wetness and the load capacity with regard to static weights and stresses / wear and tear. In some cases, after treatment with leveling compound or a leveling compound, an additional coat of "subsurface" makes perfect sense.
